A fifteen-year-old entrepreneur channelled his love for cleaning into a car washing business which now has a number of high profile celebrity clients.
Fifteen-year-old Zykiah Ditchett, from Worsley, has always shown an avid interest in cleaning and was eventually diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder at the age of thirteen after concerns were voiced over his ‘near constant’ cleaning at home.
So, in a bid to help him channel his disorder into something productive, his family bought his a car valeting kit for Christmas, which he used to clean the cars of friends and relatives, charging £5 per clean.

The teenager eventually moved onto cleaning his neighbours’ car too and, after his mum put a post out on Facebook advertising her sons’ services, business boomed. Before long, dozens of cars were queuing down the street waiting to be cleaned.
The owner of local bar Coal and Cotton Gin Bar eventually caught wind of the cleaning business, which was christened Dirt2Clean Manchester, and offered Zykiah a permanent base to work from in the form of a canopy outside of the venue.
And now, fast forwarding two years, Zykiah runs his own social media accounts and website and has a number of high profile clients including Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Molly-Mae Hague, Tommy Fury and Scott Mctominay.
Zykiah’s mum Jo spoke to the Manchester Evening News on her son’s success, saying: “Anyone who has a high-performance car comes to him but he does all cars… And he’s all self-taught, he’s never done a course. He’s done it all online and designed his own flyers.

“A lot of young lads message him asking how he started and he says with a bucket and sponge. He had a bucket and sponge for the whole year before he knew how to use a valeting kit… He went on Instagram, YouTube, any channel he could to watch the process.”
Dirt2Clean Manchester charges £10 for outside and winter washes, mini valets for £20, full valets for £30 and king valets for £50. One day, Zykiah hopes to own a car valeting company in his own name.
