Manchester named one of the best cities for single people in Europe

Good news for all you singletons out there: Manchester has been crowned as one of the best cities for single people in the whole of Europe.

So, if you’re currently wallowing in bed with a massive tub of ice cream listening to power ballads, pull yourself together and get out there because Manchester has a lot to offer.

Travel website Big 7 Travel compiled a load of data on singles, dating apps, social life, and the opinions of residents all across Europe to come up with it’s official 2021 list of the ‘Best Cities for Single People.’

Manchester came in at 16th, beating the likes of Bristol, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Liverpool. 

In a description on why Manchester made the cut, Big 7 Travel said: “Dating site eHarmony recently revealed that 51% of Mancunians have been without a partner for ten years or more, so now is the chance to get back on the dating horse.

“The city has one of the highest concentration of singles across the UK, so surely you can find a date here.”

Paris, Geneva, Tallinn, Oxford, and Berlin all claimed places in top ten, with the capital London taking fourth place (boo).

Oslo and Madrid took third and second place respectively, but just narrowly missed out on the top spot – which went to Sweden’s capital Stockholm. Manchester definitely got cheated here…
