Manchester is officially the dogging capital of the UK

Us Mancunians have always been the best at what we do and, according to new research, dogging is apparently one of them.

The people behind dating comparison website DatingRoo were the ones to make the bold claim, stating that Manchester is the number one location in the whole of the UK for the frisky ‘outdoor pursuit’.

Researchers from the site tirelessly scoured the internet to see how many people search for local hookups in certain areas of the country and, low and behold, Manchester came out on top was a massive 131 dogging locations across the city.

The company also found around 30,000 searches for dogging in Manchester in the two months prior to the study. 

Birmingham was Manchester’s closest competitor with 103 dogging hotspots, while Essex came in third with eighty-five locations and Liverpool in fourth with eighty-two. 

As expected, London fared very poorly, with the capital city coming in at seventh place with just sixty-seven dogging spots. Poor effort, London!

And believe it or not, dogging itself isn’t actually a crime – but it can be if you get caught by a passersby who doesn’t like the sight of your bare backside in a steamy car window.

If your lewd act causes ‘outrage’ to a witness, you could either be charged with public indecency or public nuisance.
