A man who thought it’d be easy to be ‘pregnant’ for the day failed miserably when he couldn’t even muster the strength to get out of bed.
Following the recent birth of his child, content creator Maitland Hanley decided to answer the question burning upon the lips of every man out there, ‘Is being pregnant really that difficult?’ and, in doing so, proved that yes, it really is that difficult.
In a video posted onto his TikTok account, Maitland strapped a watermelon and what looks like two cantaloupe melons to his stomach and chest with clingfilm to simulate carrying a baby.

In his video, Maitland can be seen laying on his back on his bed where he can be seen struggling to hoist himself back up.
A woman in the background starts making beeping noises to mimic an alarm going off and tells him to get up for the day.
Confidently, he says ‘watch this’, as he believes he will be able to do the first step in his busy schedule. But, as he attempts to swing his body around to an upright position, he is held down by his make-shift pregnant stomach/watermelon contraption.
He tries again and this time manages to get his feet on the floor, but again he instantly fails when trying to get the top half of his body to sit upright.
At the end of the video, after he failed to even roll himself out of bed, he finally admits that he thought it would be so much easier than it was.
The video has since been viewed over 24,000 times and has gained millions of comments from amused social media users. One person wrote: “Why is he not using his hands! Pregnancy took his ability to think!”
Another replied: “Me, a mum of two yelling over here: you just gotta commit! Hard roll and grab the edge for support!”
