Lancashire Police arrest ‘most wanted’ criminal after he taunted them on Facebook

In what could be the best example of karma ever, a man has been tracked down and arrested after he taunted Lancashire Police on Facebook.

David Holmes commented under the force’s social media post that listed him as one of the force’s most wanted criminals, telling them to ‘do their jobs’ and find him. 

He wrote: “Do your job properly then and come find me.”

Lancashire Police swiftly replied to his sarcastic jibe, writing back in a jolly manner: “Hi David. We’d advise you do the right thing and hand yourself in. We have an excellent track record for these sorts of things you see, so we think you’ll find that sooner or later we will ‘come and find you.'”

And, true to their word, the force took to Facebook just under twenty-four hours later to announce that they had managed to track down and arrest the twenty-seven year old fugitive. 

Writing ‘That awkward moment when we do actually arrest and charge you’, their post has since gained thousands of comments and shares.

Holmes, who had been on the wanted list since August, has now been charged with harassment and breaching a restraining order.

He was featured as part of Operation Hunter, launched by Lancashire Police in July to target the county’s most wanted people.
