Student from Warrington lands dream job after setting up Wikipedia page for his soon-to-be boss.

Nathan Bickerton, a masters university student in Digital Business at Liverpool John Moores University, has bagged his dream job after some initiative thinking.

After learning about Steven Bartlett the founder of Social Chain – which was set up in Manchester back in 2014 -as part of his studies, Nathan quickly realised Steven didn’t have a profile on Wikipedia.

Nathan quickly created a new page to help promote Steven’s new book ‘Happy, Sexy Millionaire’.

The 22-year-old messaged Steven to tell him what he’d done and within ten minutes was offered a job as a paid intern in London.

He told the Warrington Guardian: “I just thought here’s a guy, who is massive in the industry, who deserves a wiki page.

“So I wrote one for him and within 10 minutes he replied back on Twitter and offered me a job.”

Adding: “He asked when I’d written this page and I said ‘this morning’.

“It’s amazing because we were taught about Steven and Social Chain as part of our degree course.”

Nathan added that he had been applying for jobs for months so it feels like a ‘million to one chance’ he’s landed his dream role.

He added: “ I’m just astounded. You see these types of stories on social media from time to time but you never imagine it could happen to you.”

Steven shared the news on his LinkedIn page saying: “I offered this young guy a job ten minutes after he sent me the message.

“He identified a blind spot I had, created a solution, got it done, and sent me a nice message.

“This one act stood out more than the 500+ CVs I’ve received this week.

“What a great demonstration of initiative.”

Well done Nathan!
