Jonnie Irwin has confirmed in a post on social media that he will be returning to TV screens as fans rush to share their delight at the news.
The former A Place in the Sun presenter shared a post on Instagram to say he was glad to be back filming for BBC Morning Live in a property-related programme.
The 49-year-old dad-of-three, who has terminal cancer, delighted fans who have been following his journey since he announced his terminal diagnosis in November last year after he was told he may only have ‘months left to live’, as his cancer had spread to his brain.
Since then, Jonnie has been making the most of life with his family and friends while sharing his health updates openly with followers to help raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding the disease.
Posting a picture of himself smiling with a member of the camera crew in the background, he wrote: “So good to be back filming for @bbcmorninglive .
“We’ve just shot to short films about renovating your home and what to look out for. I think my smug smile betrays the lack of a massive commute for once and the extra couple of hours I got in my scratcher as we filmed in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
“I’ll let you know when they are due to go out, when I know myself. #onset #onlocation #bbcmorninglive #property #propertyrenovation #toon #newcastle.”
Jonnie’s followers flocked to the comments to let him know how happy they were to know he will be back where he ‘belongs’, on their TV screens.
One person wrote: “Back on tv where you belong and looking totally amazing!” Another said: “You look fantastic and your eyes are sparkling.”
A third put: “Right back where you belong! Doing your fabulous presenting.” And a fourth typed : “Wonderful to see you back, your looking really well, what ever your doing it’s working.”
Jonnie is married to his wife Jessica Holmes, and the couple have three children together – Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.
He also recently celebrated his seventh wedding anniversary with Jessica, who he described as an ‘angel’.
