A hotel guest has spoken of their ‘horrific’ stay in a Blackpool hotel which left them checking out at 2am.

The guest, who is known only as ‘Harry S’ was staying at the Norbreck Castle Hotel, located on Queen’s Promenade, when he claimed to hear strange noises coming from the corridor, keeping him awake all night.

The salty review reads: “I’ve stayed in some horrific hotels abroad and this hotel beats the lot of them. Requested a refund at 2am and driving home, that’s how bad it was.

“We arrived to the hotel to find an ‘event’ on in the lobby, we had to queue an hour to check in. Save your money from visiting Blackpool Zoo as the characters you’ll see walking around this hotel top any animal.

“We was (sic) woken EVERY five minutes with groups of children smashing things, knocking on doors and screaming, this is at 2am.

“As the room itself was an absolute dive, we had enough, we was told security would sort it, as nothing was done, we requested to move rooms, as they was full the only option was a refund.”

This review follows a similar tone to another from the same month where the guests claim to have been forced to check out ‘within an hour’ of checking in.

According to ‘Katy A’, a family holiday was cut four days short after the group left the Norbreck Castle, facing a four-hour drive home.

The TripAdvisor reviewer, who also stayed in July, claimed that her child found scissors in the room and that certain areas were ‘thick with dirt.’

They wrote: “Booked two hotel rooms they couldn’t have been further from each other so we went to the family room on the fifth floor. Passing dancers practicing in the hall ways stair way you name it they were there. Litter on windowsills class doors broken and indicated with tape.

“Arrived at the room I would say on first arrival the room furniture looked like it had been bought At a charity shop. Scratched bed wasn’t put together properly. Bunk beds made from wood but the cheapest you could think off. But we decided it’s our holiday we have just travelled three hours from Edinburgh it will be fine let’s have a brew.

“Picked up the first cup dirty second one dirty. Tray they were lying on dirty. That’s when we noticed more. Dirty round the radiator. The toilet bowl rim clearly hadn’t been cleaned the thick dirty on the windows.”

However, she did note that the staff were very friendly and professional – every silver lining, right?

It is worth noting that there is no solid evidence or credibility behind these reviews, so make sure not to judge too quickly.
