The Malone family from Channel 4’s Gogglebox has announced the death of their beloved Rottweiler Lucy, just months after the death of another pet.

The Mancunian family, made up of dad Tom Sr, wife Julie and sons Tom Jr and Shaun, have been on the reality show since 2014, and have become firm favourites among Gogglebox viewers.

They’ve also become well recognised due to the presence of their four pet Rottweilers, who would often be seen joining them on the sofa during the weeknight episodes.

However, yesterday the family announced on social media that one of their dogs Lucy had sadly passed away, just seven months on from the death of their other dog Izzey.

Taking to their official Instagram, the couple shared a photo of Tom Snr kissing Lucy’s head as she laid with her eyes closed, writing: ” Today we said goodbye to our beloved Lucy, she fought right to the end to stay with us. Now reunited with her sister Izzey.

“There are no words to describe how much you meant to us. Rest In Peace Sweetheart, you will always be in our hearts.”

Tom Jnr, who starred on the show himself before quitting to pursue other opportunities last year, commented on the post, writing: “Such a good girl.”

In August, the family made a similar announcement for their dog Izzey, sharing a photo of Tom playing with the dog, alongside the caption: “Our beautiful girl Izzey, RIP xx.
