Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford cruelly trolled after sharing first picture of his girlfriend 

Trolls have hit out at Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford after he shared the first-ever snap of him and his girlfriend.

Pete, who stars on the hit Channel 4 show Gogglebox with sister Sophie, received a string of nasty and hateful messages after sharing a picture of his girlfriend.

He shared a cute snap of the couple, giving fans an insight into his private life on Instagram.

However, the picture, showing the couple beaming as they cosy up to each other, was met with some nasty comments.

He posted the picture – the first he has shared of him and his girlfriend – with the caption: “My Mrs and best mate what more could I ask for, don’t worry @sophiesandiford1 you are a close second best friend

“This was taken last year FYI”.

However trolls have responded to say he is punching above his weight. 

One wrote: “Jesus christ, batting well above there lad. Congrats”, while another wrote: “The benefits of being on telly”.

But not everyone was as cruel. One fan wrote: “Lucky girl – imagine being with somebody this happy and funny!”

And a second added: “I don’t know why people feel the need to say he’s punching. But then again people who are like that are only jealous or insecure”.

Another put the trolls back in their place by saying: “Decent, honest lads who make you laugh – always get the girl.”

Gogglebox airs on Channel 4 Fridays at 9pm.
