A customer penned out a furious note for the owner of a Rochdale cafe after they couldn’t get their hands on a bacon sandwich.

Catherine Laycock, the owner of Catherine’s in Norden, Rochdale, had told customers on Facebook that the cafe would be opening late on Saturday, October 9th, because she was getting a flu jab.

However, when she returned to the cafe she was met with a furiously scribbled note pinned to the front door from an angry customer who had evidently missed her memo.

The note read: “It’s absolutely disgusting that this cafe isn’t open on time. I’ve come all the way from Durnford Close for a bacon butty.

“Well you can shove it up your a**e.”

The disgruntled customer went on to inform Catherine that they would be getting their bacon butties from another local cafe, Wildblood’s, for the foreseeable future.

Catherine shared the note with her customers on Facebook, writing: “All safely jabbed for flu….. one little prick at 10am and received this from another on arrival to the cafe ….. flabbergasted.”

Catherine’s post was quickly inundated with supportive messages from other customers, many of whom branded the person responsible for the note as a ‘plonker’.

One person wrote: “Omg they seriously need to get over themselves! Rude, just rude!” Another noted: “Anger management needed for this plonker, I do hope they didn’t choke on their bacon bap.”

Catherine later thanked her customers for their love and support, noting that she is a ‘glass half full kind of girl’ and will ‘turn this bad press around if she can’.

Catherine’s is open Monday – Friday from 8:30am and on Saturdays from 9am. Follow them on Facebook for menu updates.
