Cadbury has kick started the New Year in the right way with the launch of its ‘half and half Creme Eggs’ competition.

The chocolatier has scattered 146 half milk and half white chocolate Creme Eggs in various retailers across the country, each of which boast generous cash prizes.

But there’s a catch; each half and half Creme Egg are wrapped up in regular Creme Egg packaging, so hunting one down is going to be quite the challenge.

Each egg is worth a different sum of money, too; there are just six eggs worth £10,000, all of which are hidden in Asda, Co-op, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and other independent retailers such as local shops and convenience stores.

Three eggs worth £5,000 are on sale in Waitrose, One Stop and Booker stores, while four eggs carrying a £1,000 prize are being sold across Iceland and Booths stores.

In addition to this, there are twelve eggs worth £500 hidden across all stores, including two in Poundland. The rest will offer cash prizes of £50.

Customers will need to have an intact half and half egg to claim their prize so will need to exercise some serious self-control in order to win the cash.

If you’re hoping to get your hands on a winning egg, you have to be aged eighteen or over and have until March 17th 2022 to hunt one down. June 17th 2022 is the deadline to claim the money.

To do this, you’ll need to call the number printed on the tin foil wrapping of the winning egg, where you’ll be asked to answer a series of verification questions including the unique code on the ticket, the retailer it was purchased from, plus the date and location of purchase.

A picture of you not eating your winning egg may be required via email, by the way.
