Busy mum transformed walk-in-wardrobe into a sanctuary to get peace from her kids.

Things have certainly been hectic for those with children over the past few months, and you might be just about ready to tear your hair out!

This mum certainly was, with four kids, three dogs and a cat all under one roof.

Lisa Heenan transformed her walk-in-wardrobe into a sanctuary that no one else in the household is allowed to enter.

Lisa has dubbed the space the ‘fuck off room’, which is complete with a computer, craft supplies and a flamingo lamp in keeping with the pink theme.

Lisa, a graphic designer, shared her space online writing: “So I turned my walk-in wardrobe into my very own fuck off room. I have four kids aged 15, 13, 12 and eight, three labradors and a Himalayan Persian and they are all banned from this room.”

She says its perfect for when life gets a bit overwhelming.

She revealed that two of her sons are on the spectrum and one has ADHD, and admitted that ‘some days are a bit tough’.

Speaking to FEMAIL, Lisa revealed: “I love them all dearly but just like all mums and parents sometimes we just need a break.

“About a year ago I moved all of my clothes into the identical wardrobe I have on the other side of my en-suite and created this space for my sanity.”

She printed the words ‘fuck off’ in block capital letters on the wall to ‘tell her kids exactly what she doesn’t want to say out loud’.

She added: “My sense of humour won’t be to everyone’s taste but wouldn’t this world be boring if we were all the same?”

The thrifty mum found most of her furniture in IKEA and other bargain stores and plans on adding a pink fridge to add wine and chocolate.

For those looking to build their own ‘fuck off’ sanctuary, Lisa said: “Just do it. As parents we all deserve a space where we can relax and be ourselves outside of being mum and dad.”

Will you be making your own?
