While our current Prime Minister has said a lot of outrageous things over the years, perhaps his recent boast that he’s ‘made of Greggs’ tops the lot.

Boris Johnson made the outrageous claim this week, telling the Eastern Daily Press how much he loved the bakery chain. He said: “Have I ever not had a Greggs?! I am made of Greggs!”

However, it turns out if you cut our PM he won’t actually bleed steak bake like he claims, after he massively fluffed the price of a Greggs sausage roll.

LBC

Boris appeared live on LBC radio yesterday, Friday November 29th, where he was interrogated about his supposed love of the baked goods purveyors.

When asked about the price of a Greggs sausage roll, he told LBC radio: “Oh god, err, I don’t know, umm, I give up.”

Host Nick Ferrari didn’t let him off the hook, replying: “You have no idea? You just told me you’re ‘made of Greggs’. You must eat their sausage rolls all the time.”

Greggs

Boris tried to shrug off the question, before answering: “I don’t know. £1.90. I have no idea”, while Ferrari put him out of his misery and told him the actual price.

Even in the PM’s local Greggs in Westminster a sausage roll will only set you back £1.20, while – as we all know – you can grab one in Manchester for a quid.

The Prime Minister went on to claim he was a true Greggs enthusiast, as he’d tried a vegan sausage roll, saying: “I’ve also eaten [long pause] vegan sausage rolls. Have you eaten a vegan sausage roll? They’re not bad.”
