After becoming known for his shelf-tidying skills every week, a five-year-old Aldi super fan was recently treated to a tour around the supermarket and his very own Aldi uniform.
Rupert Knight visits his local Aldi store in Mansfield every week with his mum Kirsty, where he enjoys getting to ‘work’ tidying up the shelves, collecting empty cardboard and helping the staff keep the shop floor in order.
So, after Kirsty posted pictures of her son hard at work on Aldi’s Facebook page, the supermarket got in touch to invite Rupert to the Nottingham Road store for an exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ Aldi experience.
As part his work experience, Rupert was given his very own Aldi T-shirt and name badge, the chance to sit behind the till and scan items, a tour of the warehouse and even a special Christmas tasting session.
Aldi shared a heartwarming montage video of Rupert’s big day on Twitter, writing: “This is 5-year-old Rupert. At our Mansfield store, he’s practically part of #TeamAldi – picking up loose card packaging & helping staff.
“We wanted to say thanks for all his hard work, so arranged an exclusive behind the scenes experience.”

And, talking about her son’s unique experience at Aldi, his mum Kirsty added: “Rupert loves working at the store; all the staff know him well and he loved meeting the Store Manager and Area Manager.
“He got a full tour of the place and even got to try out a till! He loved the staff room the most as it had loads of goodies in there for him.”
Store Manager Ollie Lott also said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Rupert to the store earlier this week. We hope he enjoyed his visit and look forward to seeing him again soon.”
