TUI has cancelled more flights and holidays to popular holiday destinations including Spain, Cyprus, Portugal and Morocco.
Holidaymakers with trips booked over the next few weeks to the listed destinations will have their holidays cancelled by the tour operator.
Holidays and flights to Spain and Portugal up to and including August 28th will be cancelled, along with holidays and flights to the Balearic and Canary Islands up to and including Sunday August 23rd.
If travellers choose to continue their holiday with another airline they will face a 14-day quarantine on their arrival back in the UK.
A TUI spokesperson said: “Due to the continued UK Foreign Office advice against all but essential travel to Spain and Portugal, TUI UK has extended holiday cancellations up to and including Friday 28 August 2020 for mainland Spain and Portugal and the Balearic and Canary Islands up to and including Sunday 23 August 2020.”
Trips to Morocco are also cancelled until September 11th. Holidays to Cyprus until August 23rd have also been suspended due to strict entry requirements in the country.
The news comes after TUI announced they were considering selling parts of the business to bring down its debt following the crisis.
The firm reported a £1.3bn loss in three months during the pandemic and last week announced the closure of 166 high street stores.
