Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has reportedly been arrested in Greece.
According to local Greek news reports, the footballer was arrested during his holiday in Mykonos.
Greek newspaper Proto Thema is reporting that Maguire was detained Thursday night, following an incident outside a bar on the island.
So far, local police haven’t made an official comment on the situation.
Manchester United has released a statement, saying that they were ‘aware’ of the alleged incident.
It reads: “The club is aware of an alleged incident involving Harry Maguire in Mykonos last night.
“Contact has been made with Harry and he is fully co-operating with the Greek authorities. At this time we will be making no further comment.”
It’s being reported that police officers were called to deal with a fight between two groups of Englishmen at 12:30am local time.
According to allegations, three men attacked police both verbally and physically when they turned up to deal with the situation.
It’s being reported that Maguire was a part of this group, and the trio were reportedly taken to Mykonos police station.
