Aldi is doing Black Friday for first time with huge deals on iPhones, AirPods and Nintendo Switches

Aldi has announced it will be taking part in Black Friday sales this year for the first time ever.

The massive shopping day falls on November 27th this year, and as part of Aldi’s Specialbuys range there will be massive discounts on a range of electrical items.

The offer will be for a limited time only and once they sell out – they’re gone.

The items will be available exclusively on Aldi’s website from November 27th.

Items include a Nintendo Switch which will set you back just £229.99. The device can be connected to a TV or played on the go with a battery life of up to nine hours.

You can also get the ‘Switch Starter Set’ this Black Friday, with an impressive 23% saving on price. The kit comes with a portable case, game storage card, screen protector and stereo earphones (£7.99). 

Also on the range is refurbished iPhone 8s with 64GB of storage for £199.99. You will also be able to pick up some Apple AirPods for just £89.99. 

Aldi is also selling a Fitness Watch for £19.99 – the perfect way to get ahead with any New Year’s fitness resolutions. The tracker comes with a multi-sport mode, calorie counter, alarm clock, heart rate monitor and sleeping pattern monitor.

Morrisons is giving teachers and school staff a special discount to say thank you

Everyone working in the education sector will now get a discount at Morrisons and be able to use the dedicated NHS shopping hours.

It will run until Christmas and all those working in the education sector will qualify. 

All primary, secondary, private, special educational, college, sixth-form college and nursery teachers qualify for the new 10% discount.

Plus teaching assistants, catering staff, dinner ladies, caretakers, cleaners and office staff working in the education sector will also be able to benefit from the discount.

Morrisons said: “Lasting until after Christmas, the special discount is a thank-you to half a million teachers and additional school staff who are looking after the nation’s children and supporting them through the Covid-19 pandemic.” 

Education staff will also now be able to access the dedicated shopping hour that runs between 6am and 7am Monday to Saturday for NHS staff.

David Potts, Morrisons Chief Executive said: “Teachers and school staff are facing many challenges and the education of our children has never been more important. This discount is our way of saying thank you as they continue to care for and educate our kids.”

To access the 10% grocery discount, teachers, nursery, college and school staff will need to present their school photo ID card at the till at any of Morrisons’ 498 stores.

Lidl launch new school uniform range with prices starting at just £1

Lidl has launched Smart Start kids school uniform range with jumpers as low as £1 each. 

The range goes on sale from next Thursday (August 6th) but is likely to sell out super fast! 

The budget supermarket is selling a whole range of uniform which means you can kit your kids out with a full outfit for just £4.50. 

With the kids having a chunky time off due to lockdown its likely much of their old uniform won’t fit come September when schools are back open but this is the perfect bargain.

You can get a pack of two blue polo shirts for just £1.75, a two-pack of white t-shirts for £1.99 and two school shirts for £2.45. 

They’ve also got sweatshirts, which are a huge bargain, priced at just £1 each and red or navy blue cardigans (£3.49).

There’s also skirts, trousers and school shorts for £1.75. For £2.99 you can grab navy and black kids school pinafore that are even water repellent.

There’s also plenty of savings to be had on new PE kits including £2.99 for two shorts, £2.99 joggers, £2.99 for a three-pack of vests and £2.49 cycling shorts.

Primark has revealed when the Trafford Centre store will finally open

Primark fans will be pleased to hear there’s an update about the new Trafford Centre store.

As part of the lockdown easing measures, non-essential shops are expected to be reopen from June 15th. Primark confirmed all of its 281 English stores would be reopen on this day, while shops in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will be open by the end of June.

Eager Primark shoppers will be excited about the latest announcement from the superstore that the long-awaited Trafford Centre branch will be reopening soon.

According to the BBC, the Trafford Centre store, which was set to open in March, is expected to be open on June 15th also. 

The store will take up a whopping 64,800 square foot, spread across two floors in part of the £75 million redevelopments of Barton Square in the Trafford Centre.

Kari Rodgers, director of sales – UK, North, said: “We are delighted to be opening our new store in the redeveloped Barton Square at intu Trafford Centre.

“We are looking forward to extending our offering of amazing fashion at amazing prices along with exciting in-store experiences to the people of Manchester and the surrounding areas.”

The retailer will be following strict guidelines that include:

  • Limits on the number of shoppers in the store at one time
  • Clear distancing signage
  • Every other till open
  • Hand sanitiser at entrances
  • Face masks and gloves provided to shoppers
  • Perspex screens at tills 
  • High frequency cleaning on touchpoints
