Sainsbury’s is launching a sausage dog yule log for Christmas 2020.

With everything going on, it’s only right we look forward to the festive season and all the delicious food and drink that comes with it. 

‘Sammy the Sausage Dog cake’ is making its first-ever appearance for Christmas 2020 and it’s perfect for dog lovers.

Sammy is usually a chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream but it’s set to have a Christmas makeover including candy canes and Santas hat. 

The cake will be decorated in Christmas sprinkles as well as candy canes plus four tiny sausage dog legs and a puppy dog face too. 

It’ll set you back £8 but the cake serves 14 people – the perfect dessert for the family this Christmas. 

Sainsbury’s isn’t the only supermarket going daschund themed this Christmas, Asda are also selling their own foot and a half long chocolate Sid the Sausage Dog. 

Becky Price, Asda’s product development manager for cakes, said of the cake: “We know our customers love a novelty cake that injects plenty of fun into special celebrations at an affordable price!

“We’ve seen a rising demand from our customers for sausage dog-themed products, so Sid is a great addition to our celebration cake range and is sure to become one popular pooch!”

Tesco’s seasonal range this year includes a delicious Gingerbread Latte flavoured Irish Cream Liqueur. 

Plus, if you like your sausages savoury, there’s the giant sausage roll log that is fit for 10 people. AND – it’s only a fiver. 

Morrisons have also got a delicious sticky toffee version of the classic trifle for all those with a sweet tooth!
