In some good news for vegans, Greggs has announced it will be launching a vegan sausage butty and a vegan ham and cheese baguette.

The bakery chain has introduced vegan products in the past, including the now iconic vegan sausage roll – which caused much debate among the public.

Greggs also has a vegan steak bake on the menu, which is set to be joined by the Vegan Ham and Cheeze Baguette and Vegan Sausage Breakfast Roll.

A Greggs spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: “Over the coming weeks we’ll be trialling our delicious Vegan Ham and Cheeze Baguette and Vegan Sausage Breakfast Roll in a very small number of shops, with a wider launch planned for later in the year.”

This means vegans will soon have the option to grab a vegan breakfast butty and a baguette for their dinner.

The new sausages will be made with Quorn mycoprotein, and the breakfast butty will set you back £1.90.

Meanwhile, the ham and cheeze baguette will set you back £2.95, and will be made with Quorn mycoprotein ‘ham’ and cheddar flavoured vegan cheese slices.

It’s not yet been confirmed which shops will initially trial these two new additions to the menu.

Fingers crossed they land in a Manchester branch soon!
