To honour the NHS and Aldi has given Kevin and Katie the Carrots a makeover!

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a mention of Kevin the Carrot anymore but this year both him and Katie have had an NHS makeover.

There will be 500 limited-edition carrots that will be raising money for NHS Charities Together and the supermarket’s long-term charity partner, Teenage Cancer Trust.

Donning their best doctor and nurse outfits, the little toys will be recognising the ongoing work of both the NHS and Teenage Cancer Trust Stuff, in particular those treating patients throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

The limited-edition toys are set to be sold on eBay with 100% of the proceeds going to NHS Charities Together and Teenage Cancer Trust.

The auction will be live from December 3rd before ending on December 8th. They will start at £1.11 to honour the NHS 111 service.

The first slot launched at 8pm on December 3rd and now the bids are as high as £58 for lot 001 of 125 of Doctor Kevin the Carrot.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, said: “Our team has been working hard to do our bit to help to feed the nation, from priority access for emergency workers, to charity food donations through our ongoing work with Neighbourly.

“Following the success of our Aldi auction earlier this year, we want to raise money again to show our appreciation for the amazing work of the NHS and Teenage Cancer Trust staff.

“With our Kevin and Katie plush toys proving extremely popular and having helped to raise money for charity in the past, we felt what better way than to bring back our ‘superhero’ doctor and nurse carrots for fans to bid on!”
