A young dad who lost his job because of the coronavirus pandemic has scooped a massive win on the lottery.

The dad-of-one’s fortunes turned after winning a massive £2.4 million over Easter.

The unnamed man, from Adelaide, Australia, is one of many people who have lost their jobs due to coronavirus, as businesses across the world close.

According to reports, he won first prize in the ‘Set for Life’ lottery, and can choose either £10,190 ($20,000) a month for the next 20 years or a £2.4m ($4.8m) lump sum.

The man, in his 20s, said the huge cash injection means he can now buy his first house for his wife and young child.

He added: “I checked my online account last night and saw I had won. I woke up my wife to tell her and she screamed.

“I recently lost my job because of Covid-19, and so this just gives me complete relief. I have been so stressed lately, but now I am so happy.

“This gives us complete financial freedom. The possibilities are endless with this prize. This is a great feeling to have. I couldn’t be happier!”
