The Queen has pulled out of an important Easter event she was due to attend next week, it’s been reported today.

According to reports she ‘regretfully’ will no longer be attending the event at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on April 14th.

Instead, Prince Charles and Camilla will represent the Royal Family at the event.

Her Majesty, 95, usually attends the Maundy Day church service every year, and this will be the first time the Prince of Wales will replace the Queen at the event.

The event happens every year and is an important fixture in the royal calendar – this year Charles will follow the ancient tradition of distributing Maundy money to community stalwarts.

On the day Charles and Camilla will meet the Lord High Almoner, the Right Reverend Dr. John Inge, and the Dean of Windsor, The Right Reverend David Conner KCVO.

The Queen has been experiencing mobility issues in recent weeks, but will carry on holding virtual meetings via video call.

She’s been forced to pull out of a few engagements recently, this follows a number of health scares which included catching Covid.
