The Queen has tested positive for Covid, Buckingham Palace has confirmed this morning.
The 95-year-old is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms according to the Palace, but still expects to continue light duties at Windsor this week, as per Sky News.
Her son, Prince Charles, tested positive this month – for the second time – with sources suggesting he’d seen the Queen just a few days before his test.
A statement by Buckingham Palace said: “Buckingham Palace confirm that The Queen has today tested positive for Covid.
“Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but expects to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week.
“She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines.”
The announcement comes weeks after the Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee of 70 years, which made her Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.
The Royal Household has its own royal physicians so the Queen will have her own doctors on hand to take care of her.
