The hottest day of the year is forecast for the UK this week

Good news – temperatures are forecast to reach as high as 30C in some areas this week! 

The news we’ve all been waiting for is finally here, another heatwave is set for this week and temperatures in some areas of the UK could reach as high as 30C. 

It’s expected to hit highs of 24C on Tuesday in Manchester and 27C on Wednesday.

Tuesday is forecast for some clouds in the morning but plenty of sunshine by the late afternoon. Wednesday is expected to be bright with sunshine all day.

You can also expect warm weather and clear skies on Thursday with temperatures reaching as high as 28C in the late afternoon. 

The Met Office website says: “A fine, very warm spell is likely next week across many central and eastern areas and it will probably turn hot in places.

“Meanwhile northwestern parts will probably stay more unsettled with some rain and temperatures nearer to normal.

“Changeable, cooler conditions are likely to extend east to all areas by the last weekend of June, preceded by thunderstorms in places.

“It will probably then remain changeable and sometimes breezy with weather systems crossing the UK from the west, bringing bands of rain interspersed with brighter, showery periods.

“Most of the rain will be in the northwest where it may be rather cool.”

Another Met Office forecaster added: “Much-anticipated summer heat and settled weather is near.” 

Get the paddling pools out folks, it’s set to be a scorcher!
