Customers flooded to the Trafford Centre this weekend, with some taking to social media to explain how ‘scary’ and busy the shopping centre was.
Shoppers at the Trafford Centre have taken to social media to complain about just how busy the shopping centre was.
One user wrote: “It is ridiculous how busy the Trafford Centre is”.
A worker added: “I work at the Trafford centre and it is insulting to me that people are coming in without social distancing and not wearing masks. We in shops go above and beyond cleaning and wearing ppe to protect everyone and it is just thrown back in our faces!”
A third person added: ‘Everyone kicking off about the Trafford Centre being busy. I went a few Sundays ago, it was horrific so I didn’t last long and certainly won’t be back anytime soon.
“If you see somewhere is packed, don’t stay there. Don’t add to the packedness and then complain about it!”
A fourth said that the Trafford Centre was ‘absolutely rammed’ with ‘zero social distancing’.
Another commented: “Do not come anywhere near the Trafford centre, worryingly busy, food court closed and 90 minutes to get out of the car park.”
The Trafford Centre’s site reads: “Throughout the pandemic, we have been and will continue to do everything we can to make sure the centre is a safe place to visit and work. That includes following the guidance from Public Health England and the Government.”
A spokesperson for intu Trafford Centre said: “The safety of everyone who visits intu Trafford Centre continues to be our highest priority.
“We have a range of measures in place to ensure we stay safe and adhere to the official guidance, including a rigorous cleaning regime, capacity limits, hand sanitisation points, a one way system and more staff on the malls to reassure people and provide guidance.
“We’d encourage anyone with questions or concerns to speak to a member of our team. We’ll always do our best to help.”
