Merseyside Police have released CCTV footage showing the moment the gunman fled the scene after murdering Olivia Pratt-Korbel.
The nine-year-old girl was shot dead in her home after a gunman chased another man into her family home in Knotty Ash, Liverpool, last Monday (August 22nd).
While police have made several arrests in relation to the crime, the gunman responsible for Olivia’s death remains at large.
But today, police have released CCTV showing the moment the killer fled the scene.
The man is described as approximately 5ft 7 tall and of a slim build. In the footage, he is seen wearing a black padded jacket and a black balaclava with a peak and black gloves.
Police have also revealed that they believe two guns were used in the shooting, both of which are yet to be recovered.
Detective Chief Superintendent Mark Kameen said the footage has been released today because people may recognise what the gunman was wearing.
He said: “This footage shows the gunman running along Finch Lane away from Kingsheath Avenue.
“You then see him turn right into Berryford Road and go out of sight. We know he is climbing into and through people’s gardens to avoid being seen.”
Kameen went on to acknowledge that there will be people ‘shielding and helping this man’, adding that if they are found to be doing this, ‘we will do everything legitimately possible to bring you to justice’.
He said: “It is beyond comprehension how anyone can protect a person who is responsible for killing a nine-year-old little girl.
This man is toxic. He is toxic to our communities and if you are protecting him then he is toxic to you and your families.
“I want you to place the loyalty that you have to you families before any loyalty you have for this man. I want information as to where he is now.”
