Online fashion brand Shein has announced it is set to open 30 stores across the UK this year.

The fast fashion retailer is currently the world’s largest, rivalling other budget highstreet brands including Primark, Pretty Little Thing, and Boohoo.

The multibillion-pound company was founded in China in October 2008 by entrepreneur Chris Xu. The brand now ships to over 150 countries and was valued at £81bn in April 2022.

Shein is hugely popular amongst fashion lovers who want to wear all the latest trends on a budget. A physical store will mean shoppers won’t have to rely on reviews and zooming in on pictures to tell if they would like to buy the product.

As well as the UK, pop-up stores are also set to open across Europe and the Middle East by the end of 2023. The brand also opened its new Dublin headquarters this week.

It’s not yet been confirmed where the 30 pop-up shop locations will be, but the physical pop-ups are due to open before the end of the year — so Manchester could be on the cards!

Earlier this year, the brand tested the waters by opening temporary pop-ups in Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol and Dublin.

According to the company, their Dublin store is said to have attracted 4,000 shoppers a day during the limited time it was open.

After the grand opening of their new Ireland office, Shein’s global head of government relations Leonard Lin said in a statement: “I am delighted to launch our EMEA headquarters in Ireland.

“Ireland’s pro-business environment and great access to talent make it an excellent hub for companies, including Shein, to manage and grow our business in the region.

“Our Dublin office opening marks an important milestone in Shein’s growth in EMEA – which is one of our most important markets.

“We look forward to contributing to the growth of the local economies and to supporting local communities.”

Keep your eyes peeled for updates on where the stores will be opening.
