North of England set for snow as temperatures plunge this weekend

I know it’s not the first time we’ve brought you this news, but according to the Met Office parts of the UK could see snow this weekend.

Temperatures are set to plunge over the next few days, following the freezing fog that’s hit the region over the last few days, with lows of 1C in some parts of the country.

Forecasters have predicted snowfall in Scotland and Northern Ireland on Sunday, as well as parts of Northern England on Monday.

The snow will come as a result of wet weather combining with low temperatures, and strong winds are set to make things even worse.

Bonnie Diamond, a forecaster at the Met Office, told the Mirror Online: “Over the week and by next week we will be returning to unsettled weather. The first signs of snow are on Sunday for northern parts of the country.

“A low pressure system across the UK on Monday is bringing wet and windy weather. As rain tied up with that system moves into the colder parts of the north-east it could fall as snow across higher ground.”

The North of England will see more bad weather from Tuesday next week. The Met Office website is forecasting the heaviest rain in the west of the country, with snow possible across northern hills and an increased risk of strong winds, including a chance of gales at times.

Here’s hoping the forecast is correct this time, I need some snow in my life.
