In some good news for the fight against COVID-19, the NHS will be supplied with extra workers and beds.
According to Sky News, nearly 20,000 staff, all fully qualified, will join the NHS in a bid to tackle coronavirus.
They’ve made a deal with the private sector, which will also see 8,000 more hospital beds available.
The extra staff will include doctors, nurses and other clinical staff.
NHS chief executive Sir Simon Stevens said: “We’re dealing with an unprecedented global health threat and are taking immediate and exceptional action to gear up.
“The NHS is doing everything in its power to expand treatment capacity and is working with partners right across the country to do so.”
