Morrisons has brought back its ‘Ask For Henry’ free meal scheme to its cafes over the next fortnight.
The retailer will offer hot and hearty meals to anyone who may need them, free of charge, at selected cafes for a limited time.
The initiative is run in partnership with Heinz Beanz and will serve hot beans meals to its customers if they ‘ask for Henry’ at 397 of its cafes nationwide.
It will run from April 24th to May 7th and is hoped to help anyone who may be struggling during the cost of living crisis.
First launched in October 2022, it’s the second time the supermarket is working in collaboration with the beans giant to give customers a hot jacket potato with beans to any customer who uses the code phrase at its cafe.
All Morrisons Café staff have been fully trained on the initiative and will know exactly what you’re asking for, whether you say, ‘is Henry here’, ‘Henry’, ‘can I have a Henry’, ‘can I ask for Henry’ — or something similar.
Branches in Greater Manchester taking part in the scheme include:
Morrisons Openshaw, Ashton Old Road
Morrisons Failsworth, Poplar Street
Morrisons Whitefield, Stanley Road
Morrisons Eccles, Irwell Place
Morrisons Swinton, Swinton Hall Road
Rochelle Gardner, community champion at Whitefield Morrisons, said: “This will be the second time we have done this because it was such a success last time.
“We decided to bring it back this week because it really is a great opportunity to get out the house for a free and nutritional lunch.”
The donation is part of Heinz’s ongoing commitment to help with food poverty, which includes a long-term partnership with children’s charity Magic Breakfast, to whom they have donated over 17 million meals since 2019.
