With all the doom and gloom the coronavirus pandemic has brought with it, it’s important to remember some of the positive stories that are out there.

While the death figures are widely published in the media, the people recovering from the virus – and there are a lot of people recovering – are covered less.

Which is why the news that over a dozen people have been discharged from Stepping Hill Hospital after beating coronavirus is so welcome.

16 patients were recently discharged from the COVID-19 unit at the hospital in Stockport, leaving to continue their recovery at home.

The Stockport NHS Foundation Trust took to social media to share the good news with the world.

They wrote on Facebook: “We recently discharged 16 patients from our Covid19 unit and our staff were pleased to see them leave the hospital to recover at home.

“A minority of people with Covid19 become very seriously ill, but thankfully with care and treatment in many cases they will recover.”

Fantastic news! If we all keep following the social distancing and isolation guidelines we can get through this together.
