The sun will have his hat on as Manchester has been forecast to get an Indian summer with 20C temperatures.

Just when you may have been thinking the warm sunny days were done with until next year, forecasters have suggested there may be an Indian summer on the horizon.

But, the glorious week of sunshine won’t come until after some heavy rain and winds – of course.

Just last week, as many thought the summer was well and truly over, a heatwave hit the UK. The glorious weather saw people flock to their nearest nature reserve, beer garden or beach, with last Saturday, September 9th, being the hottest day this year on record.

Like a gamma-ray burst emitted from a struggling, dying star, as if from out of nowhere, the country enjoyed sunny highs of 26C and a nice dusting of the Sahara Desert along with it.

With news of an Indian summer on the way – due to arrive on Monday October 2nd until Tuesday October 10th – sun worshippers can get their holiday gear out once again for it will be ‘cracking flags’.

So, hang on in there and don’t lose hope, brighter days are coming, right after a spell of gloomy Northern weather.

Friday September 15th, will be cloudy with some spells of sunshine and temperatures of 20C – a nice way to end the work week.

Saturday doesn’t look too bad either. It will be a little cooler with highs of 17C, but at least the rain should hold out.

Sunday will see some light showers, also with highs of around 17C.

Monday looks a little grimmer, kick-starting the week with on/off rain throughout the day. The temperature will be a little cooler and the periodic rainfall will continue throughout the rest of the week.

Then before you know it, a last blast of sunshine will be here to let you get that summer feeling out of your system before ‘spooky season’ is upon us.
