A man has been left with ‘life-changing injuries’ after he was hit by a lorry after getting out of his car on the M60.
Police say a fifty-seven-year-old man was taken to hospital after being hit by the vehicle yesterday morning (September 1st), where he continues to receive treatment. His condition is described as ‘serious’.
The driver of the lorry is said to be ‘assisting’ officers with their investigation.
The incident caused huge delays in the area, with the clockwise section of the M60 being fully closed until around 11am.
Police are now appealing for dash cam footage of the incident, and any witnesses to come forward.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “We’re investigating a serious collision on the M60 earlier today that has left a man with life-changing injuries and caused significant travel disruption this morning.
“At around 6.20am we were called to the first of a number of reports of a lorry colliding with a man on the first lane of the M60 clockwise at around junction 13.
“The man – aged fifty-seven – is understood to have got out of his car on the side of the motorway in the moments before the collision.

“He was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries and is in a serious condition as he continues to receive treatment.
“The driver of the lorry remained at the scene and is assisting our Serious Collision Investigation Unit with their investigation.”
