A man has been arrested after police officers spotted the unmistakable sight of a cannabis farm through his living room window.

A picture shared by GMP Bury this morning showed the incriminating plants standing against the front window of the property in Whitefield, with very little effort seemingly taken to conceal them.

Lighting and electrical equipment often used to maintain cannabis plants could also be seen through the window.

Approximately 250 plants were seized by officers and a man was arrested following the discovery.

GMP Bury said in a statement: “In accordance with the Chief Constables Plan on a Page, Bury South Neighbourhood Team along with other colleagues from Bury have this morning carried out a successful warrant at Balmoral Ave, Whitefield.

“One Albanian male has been arrested and approximately 250 plants have been seized.”

This comes just three months after GMP confiscated and burned £750k worth of cannabis found in a property in Cheetham Hill.

Officers raided the property back in January where they discovered a cannabis farm containing drugs with an estimated street worth of £750k.

173kg of the plants – the equivalent of five German Shepherds, according to the force – were then bagged up and burned through an incinerator.
