We can all agree that the heroes working for our NHS deserve the world and more, especially for the tireless work they’ve put in during the coronavirus crisis. With everything that’s going on, and how hard they’re working, it can sometimes be tricky for them to get out and grab everyday essentials, like food. A simple hot meal or some milk, fruit, vegetables and bread to take home can really make a difference to an NHS workers’ busy day – and now this can be easily achieved, with your help.
Manchester’s Finest has teamed up with EATMCR and Manchester Young Professionals (MYP) to feed NHS staff on the frontline in Greater Manchester – raising thousands in just a few hours. From the surgeons to the porters, the nurses to the catering staff, the physios to the midwives, and the paramedics to the GPs – these heroes stand for us every day when we’re at our most vulnerable, and it’s time we all showed our appreciation by giving something back. To start with, the campaign will be supplying the Stock Exchange Hotel – who are putting up NHS workers for free – with bread and other essentials from Pot Kettle Black. They’ve also partnered with Street Cars, who will help transport the supplies.
And it doesn’t stop there. With your help they’re looking to partner with restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and other food outlets from across the region to provide for our frontline workers.
They will be sending food as regularly as they can to NHS staff, using local businesses, and they’ll be keeping the public updated on a dedicated social channel – @feedourheroesmcr. This is where you come in – the fundraiser has managed to raise thousands of pounds so far, £7,438 at the time of writing, but head over to it here and make a donation if you can. Anything is welcome, and even the smallest donation can make a huge difference.
