Chocolate lovers know Lidl is the place to go for a choccy fix at a good price, but now the bargain supermarket chain has issued an urgent recall on one of its popular bars.

The chocolate aisle is just one of the best places to hit up when shopping in Lidl stores, as well as its famous bakery, middle aisle and European foods section.

The German supermarket offers sweets juicier than big brands and melt in your mouth chocolate bars on its confectionery aisle, and the prices are pretty sweet too.

But the supermarket has recalled its Fin Carré White Chocolate bars, which they’ve taken off the shelves – for those wondering where they’ve gone to.

It has recalled the bars over fears they could contain small pieces of plastic, making them unfit for consumption.

The FSA have issued a warning over the product, which reads: “This product may contain pieces of plastic which makes it unsafe to eat.”

The page also offers advice for anyone who may have purchased the product, which reads: “If you have bought the above product, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”

Officials say the reason for the recall is because of a ‘potential presence of foreign bodies which may present a choking hazard’.

An FSA spokesperson said: “Lidl GB is recalling Fin Carré White Chocolate because it may contain pieces of plastic.

“The possible presence of plastic makes this product unsafe to eat.”

If you think you may have purchased one of the bars, look out for any Fin Carré White Chocolate bars with a best before date of October 16th, 2024 – as according to officials, this is the batch that could be affected.

Lidl has apologised to its customers for any inconvenience, saying in a statement: “Any customers with queries or concerns can contact Lidl Customer Services on 0203 966 5566 or customer.care@lidl.co.uk.”
