BREAKING: Legendary TV host, Jerry Springer, who had a show of the same name, has died aged 79.

A statement released by his family confirmed he passed away ‘peacefully’ at his home in Chicago.

It is understood Jerry was diagnosed with cancer just a few months ago, but took a turn for the worse earlier this week.

Family spokesman Jene Galvin said: ‘Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word.

‘He’s irreplaceable and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart and humor will live on.’

Jerry hosted the smash hit syndicated tabloid talk show ‘The Jerry Springer Show’ for 27 years, lighting up America with many wild and raucous TV moments to remember.

His audience would cheer his name, ‘Jerry, Jerry!’, as his outrageous guests would get into crazy spats and fights.
