A pregnant mum has died in hospital after a horror crash on the M66, leaving three young children injured in hospital.

She tragically passed away in hospital following a horror crash on the M66 — which also left her two sons and nephew seriously hurt.

Frankie Jules-Hough, 38, her two sons, Tommy, nine, and Rocky, two, and her nephew Tobias, four, were travelling along the motorway on Saturday afternoon when they were involved in the devastating smash.

Adil Iqbal, 22, of Hope Street, Accrington, appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Monday May 15th, where lawyers confirmed Ms Jules-Hough had died.

Iqbal, who works in a boxing gym, has now been charged with causing the death by dangerous driving of Ms Jules-Hough, along with the two other charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, relating to the two boys.

He was arrested at the scene, between junctions three and four, and detained on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The incident happened just after three o’clock on Saturday on the southbound carriageway of the motorway. The M66 was closed in both directions to allow two air ambulances to land.

It is understood Frankie, Tommy, Rocky and Tobias — from Chadderton, Oldham — were transported to hospital via air ambulance.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Adil Iqbal (11/02/2001) of Hope Street, Accrington has been charged with three counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

“He has been remanded into custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday May 15th). These charges relate to a road traffic collision on the M66, Bury yesterday (Saturday May 13th).”

Friends of Frankie and her family have set up a fundraising page to support the family who frantically rushed to be by the sides of their loved ones’ hospital beds, writing ‘Life can be turned upside down in the blink of an eye’.

In part, it reads: “Frankie, who is currently 18 weeks pregnant, is in intensive care fighting for her life. Her partner Calvin, is frantically by her side.

“Tommy and Tobias are in induced comas in intensive care, currently awaiting brain scan updates. This is absolutely devastating for the family and their whole world has been truly turned upside down.

“Julia & Frank (Frankie’s parents), Calvin (Frankie’s partner), Becci & Aaron (Tobias’s parents) Tom (Tommy’s father) are all frantically by their loved ones sides. These next few weeks/months will be critical for the family and is absolutely traumatising for them all.

“I am humbly knocking on the door of your kind hearts to help and support this family as they go through this difficult time ahead. Due to the intense injuries and critical conditions, I’m sure you will be aware that their closest loved ones cannot leave their bed side.

“So I am asking you to find it in your kind hearts to please help my friend’s family by donating what you can. Any amount of donation will be a huge help for the whole family, no matter how big or small.

“All funds will go towards Frankie and the children’s recoveries as when they do awake, their lives could look very different and have a long road to recovery, so it will take away any stress/worries of bills as their immediate family cannot leave their bedside.

“They would be grateful for anything you could contribute.” If you wish to make a donation to the Go Fund Me page, click here.

Following the crash, Sergeant Matt Waggett from GMP Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “I would like to thank the members of the public who selflessly helped at the scene and called 999, as well as those who assisted when police and emergency services arrived on scene.”

And writing before Frankie died, Keeley D Berry, a friend of Ms Jules-Hough’s family, said on Facebook: “Franki Hough you have to pull through. You have to. Please please pray for her and the boys and her unborn baby girl. You’ve never let ANYTHING beat you, please please please please.”
