Swedish fashion retailer H&M has confirmed the date its branded home store will open at its Market Street location.

The flagship store, which has been closed since June while it has undergone a refurbishment, is set to open next week and will feature both its H&M and H&M Home sections.

The store opened up a pop-up section for H&M lovers to browse while they waited for its full opening, which has been confirmed as Friday, November 17th.

Shoppers were delighted when H&M, full name Hennes & Mauritz, decided to branch out and launch a homeware range in 2009, following in the footsteps of the likes of Zara.

At first, it teased us with a small concession in Selfridges at the Trafford Centre back in 2015, where shoppers and home decor enthusiasts could find affordable pieces that looked as good as those sitting on their Pinterest boards.

It offered interior design wannabes all the latest home decor trends including bedding, towels, vases, candles, kitchenware rugs and plenty more.

Last April, it opened a full store within the Trafford Centre dedicated only to H&M Home, which has proved a huge hit with shoppers.

Set to open next Friday, the freshly refurbished site will feature click & collect lockers as well as self-checkouts. The Market Street shop will be the second H&M Home store in Manchester.

Customers will experience a new welcoming interior with ‘curated and inspirational’ displays to create a relaxed environment with clean and cosy vibes.

Speaking about the new home store, Henrik Nordvall, UK CEO at H&M, said: “We are delighted to further enhance our H&M offering in Manchester at our newly refurbished Market Street store.

“Along with the latest womenswear, menswear and kidswear, H&M Home will also be on offer in-store, with our Manchester customers now able to enjoy curated collections of contemporary décor and home accessories alongside our fashion collections and styles.”

The retailer hasn’t given much away about how its newly refurbished store will look but perhaps the style of the Trafford Centre branch may offer us a bit of a clue.

To celebrate its reopening, on Friday November 17th, the first 100 customers to enter its doors will be offered a complimentary gift-with-purchase, and visitors can experience exclusive launch day in-store activations.

H&M Members will get 20% off their purchase in-store also on reopening day.
