A heartbreaking photo has been circulating on social media of a paramedic.

The image appears to show the paramedic staring at empty shelves in a supermarket after panic buying has swept through.

It’s been widely shared on social media, although it’s not known when or where it was taken, according to reports.

There have been calls for NHS workers to get their own time in stores to do shopping, like many places are introducing for the elderly and vulnerable.

It comes as supermarkets like Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda have set a limit of people buying three of one item, or two when it comes to essential products like toilet roll and handwash.

So far pleas to stop panic buying have been largely ignored, forcing shops to take the measures.
