GMP want to speak to this woman after an elderly couple had money stolen in the city centre

Greater Manchester Police are appealing for information after an elderly couple had their money and belongings stolen in the city centre.

The couple had cash, jewellery and a mobile phone pick-pocketed from their bag as they walked between the Metrolink platform on Market Street and St Peter’s Square on September 21st between 6pm-6:30pm.

A post on the GMP City Centre Facebook page implored: “Do you recognise this woman?

“We want to speak to her after cash was taken from an elderly couple’s bag at some point between the Metrolink platform on Market Street and whilst walking to St Peter’s Square tram stop between 6pm and 6.30pm on 21 September.

“Cash, jewellery and a phone were taken. Anyone with information should call 0161 856 3221.”

The post has since garnered dozens of comments, though the force is yet to give an update on its investigation.
