Five Guys is now hiring across Greater Manchester with free staff meals

American burger chain Five Guys is hiring for nine roles at its sites across Greater Manchester, and you can even grab a free meal on the job.

The popular burger joint is hiring for crew and a shift manager with nine vacancies at numerous sites.

Its branches at the Arndale centre, Ashton, Bolton and University Green are recruiting for crew members, while Bolton is also searching for a shift manager.

All the current roles at the American fast food restaurant, famous for its mouth-watering burgers, shakes and refillable soft drinks are full time and permanent with no zero hour contracts.

Five Guys also offer some great perks to the job including being able to grab a free meal while on shift as well as an employee discount programme, days out and social events and team competitions.

There’s also an ‘earn as you learn’ scheme which could increase your hourly rate by up to 40p and a secret shopper bonus which can add up to £1 per hour. Contracted hours are offered to suit with none being zero hours. 

Contracts also include paid breaks, 28 days paid holiday and ‘enhanced’ maternity and paternity leave.

Hourly rates for under 18s are between £9.70 and £10.70 and over 18s will receive between £10.65 and £11.80 per hour, depending on the restaurant location.

The following amount of crew members are being recruited in each location:

  • Manchester Arndale – four vacancies
  • Manchester University Green – two vacancies
  • Bolton – one vacancy
  • Ashton – one vacancy

Crew members are trained to work on all workstations, from the till to the grill, ensuring excellent customer service and food standards are delivered. 

All the preparation work takes place in the morning and the restaurant is cleaned after closing. Communication is a key skill needed to be a crew member as well as enthusiasm and ambition, according to the job specification.

Bolton is also searching for a shift manager. This role will be to support the general manager and will be responsible for crew and quality control. 

The job also includes creating a happy working environment and dealing with customer complaints promptly.

The shift manager is also responsible for ensuring shifts run smoothly while upholding Five Guys’ company values. It’s a hands-on role, working across the stations and dining room.

The salary is £27,300 a year plus a £4k bonus. Perks include an achievable quarterly bonus scheme worth up to £3,000 a year and an additional Secret Shopper bonus worth up to £2,000.
