A daughter has made a public plea on her TikTok platform to find attackers who left her dad unable to speak or walk in an unprovoked incident that took place in broad daylight, in Salford.

John Lowe, 58, was left with severe head injuries after being attacked in Clarendon Park on Tuesday February 14th. The father-of-three has since been left unable to speak or walk and only sometimes opens his eyes. Greater Manchester police are treating the incident as attempted murder. John’s daughter Lily, 35, has now issued an urgent appeal to the public for anyone with information to contact the police.

She has launched a campaign #Justice4John and has been distributing leaflets — along with her family and friends — around Salford on Sunday March 12th, in an effort to encourage potential witnesses to come forward to help identify the perpetrators. Speaking to ITV News, she said: “It’s devastating, every day I wake up and I cry, every night I cry, I’m trying to stay strong, but it’s heartbreaking.”

Her brother Dave added: “The person lay in that hospital bed today is not the dad that we know, not the John that everybody in the community knows and he never will be. We’re still prepared for some terrible outcome at the moment, he still has severe brain damage.”

Lily has also taken the campaign to her many followers on TikTok — where she is known on the platform as Lily Dee aka Council Estate Queen. In an emotional video clip she says: “My dad, John, was discovered unconscious in Clarendon Park in Salford after being badly beaten. This was around 10am – broad daylight.

“This brutal attack has left him with life-changing injuries and has altered our family forever. We were used to seeing our dad full of energy, the life and soul of the party. This attack has made him a shell of a person and all we can do his witness him deteriorate right in front of our eyes.

“He is lay in a hospital bed severely brain damaged. There is that much trauma to his brain. He can’t talk, he can’t walk, he can’t do anything, he is in a vegetative state. He will never be the same person again.”

Lily is hoping her social media presence will help police get the information they need to bring John’s attacker to justice. In the video she continues: “I beg you, anyone, that was on Clarendon Park, please be a hero and come forward.

“He didn’t deserve this. Please come forward with some information, identify the attacker, and bring peace and a bit of justice to our family. This monster is on the streets of Salford. He could do this to your son, your brother, your dad.”

Lily says that the incident has shocked the community in the Clarendon Park area, describing her father as ‘a big character’. A fundraiser has also been set up to help John’s family provide him the care he needs to deal with his life changing injuries as they navigate through this difficult ordeal.

On the Go Fund Me page, the family have written: “The attack has robbed a father of his existence. A loving, caring, gentle and generous man loved by all in his community. John would do anything for anyone and was always known for his big smile and cheeky demeanour.

“John has three children and a loving family all of whom are ruined by this attack and appeal to the communities John was a part of all of his life to help them bring some closure and peace to this horrific event that has changed the lives of all of Johns family forever.

“The attack has left John with life changing injuries and has destroyed his family. Nearing 60 years of age, John was a victim of a brutal attack leaving him severely brain damaged with very little quality of life which appears to have a fatal intention.

“We were used to seeing my dad full of life and energy, the life and soul of the party, but now the man left in that hospital bed is not my dad. The shell of a person left behind by this attack does not and will never resemble the John we all knew and loved, his life is over and we have to witness his slow painful demise right before our eyes.

“This could have happened to anyone, anyone’s dad, son or brother but it happened to us and we need your help to bring the person who shattered a whole family to justice.”

GMP arrested a 32-year-old man on March 2nd on suspicion of attempted murder, who has since been released on bail.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or through the LiveChat function on www.gmp.police.uk quoting log number 1218 of 14/02/23.

Greater Manchester Police

Two men have now been charged with murder, following the discovery of a human torso in Kersal Dale.

As well as that, more suspected human remains were also discovered this morning, Monday April 29th, in an alleyway close to the railway lines off Worsley Road, Eccles.

This follows earlier discoveries of human remains over the past three weeks, at Kersal Dale, Blackleach Reservoir and Colliery Wood, all in Salford.

Greater Manchester Police

Michal Jaroslaw Polchowski (25/04/1956) and Marcin Majerkiewicz (10/04/1982) both of Worsley Road, Eccles, have been charged with murder.

They are set to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court this afternoon.

While formal identification is still ongoing, the remains found at Kersal Dale are believed to be of a local man in his 60s. The remains found at the other three locations are still to be tested, but police are confident they belong to the same victim.

ACC Sarah Jackson said: “We have had large numbers of officers, staff and specialists working diligently on this investigation over the last three weeks. It has been very much a large, collective effort, with the victim and family at the heart of it from the outset.

“We have specially trained officers deployed to support the family as they come to terms with this tragic news. They are aware of this morning’s further discovery and will continue to be kept up to date with how we are progressing.

“Despite the charges brought today, our work is far from over.

“The scenes we already have established in Bury and Salford will remain in place for much of this week whilst our searches and enquiries continue. Local officers will continue to patrol the impacted areas to provide reassurance.

“We will continue following every line of enquiry to recover and reunite the victim with his family, bringing a dignified end to this terrible scenario.

“I’d like to thank the communities of Salford and beyond for their cooperation throughout this investigation. I know this incident has come as a shock, and the support we’ve had from those in the area is very much appreciated.”
