Corrie’s Colson Smith shows off incredible weight loss in new photo

Corrie star Colson Smith has shown off his weight loss in a new picture on his Instagram. 

The picture features the 21-year-old, who plays Craig in the popular soap, wearing a full grey tracksuit alongside the lyrics “Konvict Music” from Akon’s I Wanna Love You.

Colson revealed he had lost over a stone earlier this month, posing for a picture during a run. 

Originally, Colson took up fitness as part of his character’s new role as a police officer, after admitting he was out of breath chasing shoplifters. 

His character, Craig, revealed that he was experiencing bullying at work regarding his weight so was going to make an effort to be healthier.

Despite a complete overhaul to his fitness routine, Colson also admits that a stint of food poisoning in December caused him to lose one and a half stone. 

The food poisoning, he told his podcast – which he co-hosts with Jack Shepherd and Ben Price – he got from ignoring advice and eating some seafood in Thaliand.

He said: “I was in Ko Lanta. I was sat on the beach and the waiter came over and was like, ‘What would you like?’ And I said, ‘I’ll have the prawns to start please.’

“I had avoided seafood [on Ben’s advice] but I was sat on the beach and I was like, ‘How can you not have seafood on the beach?’Well, anyway. I’m not doing that again. I’ve lost about a stone and a half.”
