Ariana Grande brought some much-needed Christmas cheer to kids at two Manchester hospitals this year.

Every child at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and the Manchester Royal Infirmary got a £100 Amazon voucher from the popstar.

One dad whose daughter received the gift from the singer told the Manchester Evening News his daughter was ‘absolutely delighted’.

Steve told the MEN: “As I understand it she’s given every child in the hospital a voucher. I went to pick her up and she was so excited.

“She said ‘look dad, I’ve got a £100 voucher from Ariana Grande’. It was in a little personalised box with no message on it and no note to say who it’s from.

“It’s such a lovely gesture and there’s no publicity around it so you know it’s genuine. It’s brought a lot of joy after everything that’s gone in with the pandemic this year.

“It’s been a tough year with my daughter being in hospital. The staff there are great and so hard working.”

Steve originally shared the news on the #AHEART4MCR Facebook group, writing: “Ariana Grande has given every child in the Children’s hospital at Manchester Royal infirmary a £100 Amazon voucher for Christmas.

“I know this because my youngest daughter is a long term patient there and received hers this morning. What a lovely gesture from a wonderful human”.

Grande has had an affinity with our city since the Manchester Arena bombing, which occurred at one of her concerts, and has previously spoken out about this.

The singer returned to Manchester two weeks after the attack to visit survivors in hospital, as well as families who had lost loved ones in the tragedy.

She also put on the One Love benefit concert at Old Trafford cricket ground, which raised money for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund to help the victims and their families.
