Jet2 is cancelling all flights to Spain and Portugal until next year.

Jet2.come and Jet2 Holidays have announced that all flights and trips to Spain and Portugal will now be cancelled until next year.

Currently, the government guidelines advise against non-essential travel to the two countries, and the ongoing uncertainty with travel during the coronavirus pandemic has forced the firm to scrap travel to the regions.

Flights and holidays to Malaga and Alicante in Spain will be suspended until February 10th 2021. Flights and holidays to Algarve in Portugal will be suspended from November 1st 2020, to February 10th 2021.

Flights to and from Portugal up to and including October 31st will still operate.

The company has explained they are in contact with those affected by the changes and they will be refunded automatically.

Travellers will be offered a £100 incentive to rebook their holiday departing March 31st next year. Those who were due to fly before October 31st are able to rebook their trip with no admin fees.

A spokesperson for Jet2 said: “Due to the ongoing uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the latest government travel advice, we have taken the decision to extend the suspension of flights and holidays to Malaga, Alicante and Faro (The Algarve).

“Flights and holidays to Faro are suspended from November 1 up to and including February 1, 2021 and we are continuing to operate a revised flying programme for flight-only customers up to and including October 31. For customers due to travel up to and including October 31 and who no longer wish to do so, we are offering them the option to rebook with no admin fee.

“We will be automatically cancelling affected bookings with a full refund.

“We would like to remind affected customers that they do not need to contact us as we will be in touch. We would also like to thank customers for their continued patience and understanding.”
