Aldi launches home delivery service to help people during lockdown

Aldi has launched a home delivery service for the first time ever.

The budget supermarket will be delivering food parcels to help people struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.

They’ll be doing the food boxes online from tomorrow, Friday April 17th, in a bid to help the vulnerable or anyone self-isolating.

Each package will contain 22 essentials, including antibacterial handwash, toilet roll, tinned soup, rice and pasta.

Fritz Walleczek, managing director for corporate responsibility at Aldi, said: “We are committed to providing quick, safe and affordable access to food for all our customers and understand that, for some, visiting one of our stores is not an option at the moment.

“We’re constantly looking for new and better ways to support our customers in these uncertain times and I’m hopeful that these food parcels will make life a little easier for some of the country’s most at-risk people.”

The parcels will be available to order online here from tomorrow, and will set you back £24.99, including delivery – they’ll be limited to one per person.
