In some good news, Aldi workers will be given a 10% Christmas bonus to say thanks for their hard work during the pandemic.

More than 35,000 Aldi workers will get the bonus, as a thank you for their ‘tireless’ work during lockdown this year.

The budget supermarket revealed that store and distribution workers would all get an additional 10% of their November pay, dished out in December just ahead of Christmas.

The bonus means frontline workers, who ‘have worked to keep the nation fed during an unprecedented year’, will be rewarded for their efforts.

Giles Hurley, Aldi’s chief exec, said: “This year has been a difficult one for so many and our colleagues have worked tirelessly to ensure the nation continues to have access to high quality affordable food.

“This bonus is a gesture of our appreciation for our amazing Aldi colleagues who have shown incredible resilience and dedication throughout 2020.”

What a brilliant gesture, Aldi!
