After three men were stabbed near Bury Market yesterday, police have now arrested a 17-year-old boy as investigations continue.
It comes after officers were called to reports that three males had been stabbed in Bury town centre at around 12.15pm on the afternoon of Monday, March 11th.
Emergency services arrived at the scene to find three males with stab wounds. They were taken to hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Two of the victims have now been released from hospital while a third is being kept in.
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault, and he currently remains in police custody for questioning, police say.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward while their investigations into the incident continue.
Detective Chief Inspector John Charlton, of GMP’s Bury division, said: “We believe this incident was a targeted attack and thankfully no one has suffered life-threatening injuries.
“There is not a threat to the wider public and we believe this was an isolated incident. You may see heightened patrols in the local area – don’t be alarmed by this. Our officers are there to help, support and reassure the wider community.
“We are appealing to anyone with information about this incident to make a report to police.”
